Need some help with the profile of Colleen Mary Arnold (1933-1992, Australia)

Question

Colin Henry Arnold is in my extended family tree (he is my third cousin twice removed), and I'm looking into his marriage. It appears there are these two profiles for the same person:

• Colleen Mary Arnold formerly Morris
• Colleen Mary Arnold

I've now adopted both profiles.

The dates and marriage to Colin on both profiles seems t, o indicate they are the same person, and I had planned to merge, but for the Morris profileI'm unsure where the parentage/last name come from?

I checked the marriage record (same record cited on both profiles) and it gives both the groom and bride's last name as 'Arnold'. I guess Colleen's last name in the marriage record could be a typo?

I checked the possibility that Coleen had married another Arnold prior to marrying Colin, but I couldn't find any NSW marriages between an Arnold and Morris in the period 1948 to 1961.

Does anyone have any ideas on this one?

I performed a quick search and I wasn't able to locate the parents. I did locate the following find-a-grave link for her.

It has the listed husband reflected in the WikiTree profile pages, but also has another spouse as well.

A merge seems the way to go. Parramatta is part of Sydney. I would suggest the last name Arnold was a slip of the pen.

I wouldn't be so quick to decide slip of the pen without further evidence.  The sheer number of cousins of the same last name marrying that I am dealing with this last week or so has boggled my mind and seared my brain.

Are you able to access newspaper archives for death notices for the first husband? There may be a notice from his in-laws that state their surname.

Although Colleen and Colin didn't marry until 1961, in 1958 in the Division of MacArthur, they were living together and she was using the surname Arnold. It may also be useful to follow him back through the electoral rolls, and when Colleen disappears, look for her in the same electorate as surname Morris. With luck they will be living together, or you might find her living with her Arnold parents.
