The Teeters in Arkansas settled in Pottsville, near Russellville.

Thank you - I meant "teeter" with no "s" although they are likely related.  There are web site with the Jacob Teeter tree in a lot of detail - not sure if that can be transferred to the wiki tree.

The Arkansas family appears to have traveled from North Carolina - likely moved to nc from pa.

My Teeter family came from the Arkansas area more directly from Crow Mt. north of Russelville, Ark via North Carolina. At this time there is not a link to Penn. with this family. We have traced it back to Jacob Teeter and at this time it is looking to a possible Hessian soldier in the Revolutionary war where he deserted or captured and left the  Hessian army stay here. attempting to prove it now. I am from Arkansas, descended from Girtman family, which if you go back far enough that it becomes Gartman, you find a German/Swiss immigrant named John James Hans Gartman married Teter Dieter, daughter of George Dieter/Teeter. She was born either 1730 or 40. . She died in Lexington District, SC, some sources say 1822. It seems strange, that just a few generations down, her Gartman/Girtman descendents come to Arkansas, and so did your family with similar name...
