Stunning photos of US Army Photog Christian Barthelmess 1854-1906

An article recently published led me to Christian Barthelmess (profile under construction) who came to America, joined the Army as a musician but became a stunning photographer that I am glad to have finally bumped into.

A few of his images of Native Americans taken near Fort Keogh, Montana can be found here http://www.1-22infantry.org/history2/templepagetwo.htm

His images are found in the Library of Congress, Yale's Beinecke Library and over 500 of them at the Montana Historical Society.
