Is John Lerew a notable enough Australian? [closed]

After reading Lex McAulay's biography of John Lerew I created a profile for him.

There is a Wikipedia page for him, which I guess meets a threshhold. No Australian Dictionary of Biography entry.

He seems to have been a character, as well as capable and lucky, but is he notable enough for the Australian Notables category?

I added the wikidata item, but will leave the notables sticker to you.

The guidelines for the Notables Project state "We use Wikipedia's standards for notability. Note, though, that many notable people do not yet have a page on Wikipedia. Feel free to ask Project Leaders about whether someone meets the guidelines, or read through them yourself and use your best judgment. Many, many important people are not on WikiTree yet!". The way I read that if they have a page on Wikipedia then they belong in the Notables Project.

I'd agree with you Dale. This one's pretty straightforward.

He has a Wikipedia page, so he's a Notable.
Thanks folks, based on responses I've added a Notable category (also orphaned the profile).

Probably borderline as a Notable. I would most likely say Yes.  Geoff Raebel, are you reading this?
