I've got this error on my Suggestions:

885 Using Top Level category

The only Categories he has are:

[[Category:Sunnyside, Washington]]

[[Category:Jerome, Idaho]]

William, I think it is the "World War II" category that is the top level.  If you can get to even the country, that would be better.  Getting to even lower would be better still.
Not being familiar with the American system, it looks as though he registered in Idaho in 1942, and enlisted in Idaho in 1943.

If you could get to where you could add his unit/regiment/whatever, that would certainly get him off the  top level WWII category.  :)

What you need is to find something on this page (it's a mid-level category, so narrower than it would be good) that will help you narrow down the category for him.  Who knows, you might find another as well.

Thank you for the suggestion!

I found Gordon's enlistment record, and added the corresponding info to his Bio and WWII Sticker.

2 Parts to this:

  1. The World War II template automatically places individuals into the category, World War II if a parameter is missing, spelled wrong, etc. Until this is corrected, I believe this category should NOT be listed as Top-Level and generate errors.
  2. In the profile linked to this post, the branch= parameter was listed as "US Army". This is an invalid value, so the sticker defaulted to a category of "World War II".
I corrected this by changing the parameter from "US Army" to "United States Army". You can now mark the suggestion as corrected!
