Is there some evidence for the claim that Elizabeth Abber was born in Ireland? As far as I am aware, there is nothing about her other than what is included in the 1885 volume by Cyrus Black, and that has nothing about her prior to her marriage to William Black in Canada. She may well be from Ireland, or from England or Scotland, or she may have come to Canada from the colonies to the south (Massachusetts, etc.). There seems to be no evidence whatsoever on her origins. I would be very glad to be shown to be wrong on this, as she is my direct maternal ancestor (mtDNA haplotype J1c8), and I would love to know her origins!! :-)

Abber-3 and Abber-2 appear to represent the same person because: I am quite familiar with this family, the subject of a book (cited in Abber-2), and they are definitely the same person. Birth location as "Ireland" in one of the records is unsubstantiated, as far as I know, nobody has determined here whereabouts before her marriage to William Black after his first wife, Elizabeth Stocks, died. Birth year of 1748 is an estimation, also.
