Biography

There apparently is no birth record for Experience Abell. She was probably born in Rehoboth, Massachusetts about 1660,[1] This may be based on the year of her marriage. (Several merged profiles give her date of birth as 1653,[2] and October 1653.[3])

Experience Abell and John Baldwin were married in 1680 at Norwich, New London, Connecticut.[4] Deacon John Baldwin died at Lebanon, New London, Connecticut, on 18 Jan 1704/5.[5]

It seems that there is also no record for the death or burial of Experience, but "Mrs. Experience Baldwin made oath, 5 June 1705, to the inventory of deceased husband's estate",[6] so she died after June 1705. One merged profile gave her death date as January 1706 in Lebanon, New London, Connecticut.[7] Her FindAGrave memorial shows that she died in January 1706, but no source is given.[8] It also suggests that she is buried at the Old Cemetery, Lebanon, New London, Connecticut,, where her husband John is buried, again with no source. Another merged file showed that she died in Guilford, New Haven, Connecticut, but there is no record of her death there, at least not under the name Baldwin.
