Johannes Texter Achenbach was born and baptized on 19 Jan. 1800 in York Co., PA. He was the son of Johann Georg Sr. Achenbach (1769-1845) and Anna Maria Texter (1771-1856). At age 23, Johann (John) married Sarah (Sallie) Naylor at Christ Church in York Co., PA, on 10 June 1823 and they raised a family of 16 children on the family farm. A life-long resident of York County, Johannes died at the age of 80 on 19 Sept. 1884 and is buried in the Aughenbaugh Family Cemetery in Manchester Twp., York Co., PA. [1]
