Biography

John Ackles, Esq. was born in 1761, probably in Dutchess County, New York Colony. He was most likely the son of James Ackles and Jean Bryant.

He married Margaret Baxter on 25 August 1785 in Fishkill, Dutchess, New York.

He was a farmer, and also served as Justice of the Peace for the Town of Tully for a time.

John passed away on 25 July 1845 in Tully and was buried in Christian Hollow Cemetery in LaFayette.
