Biography

John was born about 1824 in Georgia[1][2] to Nathaniel Acree and Elizabeth O'Neal.

He served as a private in company F, 23rd Regiment, Alabama Infantry of the Confederate States Army during the Civil War.[3][4]

He married Mary Elizabeth Schoffield on 04 Sep 1845 in Lowndes County, Alabama,[5][1][2] and the couple had the following known children:

  1. Alfred Acree was born about 1848 in Alabama.[1]
  2. Frances M. Acree was born about 1850 in Alabama.[1]
  3. T. M. Acree was born about 1851 in Alabama.[2]
  4. G. W. Acree was born about 1853 in Alabama.[2]
  5. N. Acree was born about 1858 in Alabama.[2]
  6. I. L. Acree was born about 1860 in Alabama.[2]

John passed away about 1900.
