When Louisa Caroline Adams was born on November 14, 1845, in Georgia, her father, Jeptha, was 25, and her mother, Emma, was 23. She had five brothers and six sisters and was the second wife of John Allen Woods (1829–1899); they had two children:

John died in 1899 and Louisa died on October 26, 1927,[1] in Walker, Georgia,[2] at the age of 81, and was buried there.[3]
