He married Jane E. Smith. In 1870, the were living in St Helena Parish, Louisiana.[2] William was a farmer. They had seven children at home: Jane, John, Marshall, Augustus, Gertrude, Ashford, Jane, and William.
By 1880, they had moved to Montgomery County, Texas.[3] Children in the home were John Augusta, Ashford, Mary, Kent, Hally and Emet. William was still farming.
William passed away in Texas on 28 Sep 1896. Burial was in the Montgomery New Cemetery in Montgomery, Montgomery County, Texas.[4]
A son, A S Addison, passed away 18 Sep 1937. Both William and Jane were mentioned in the death record.[5]
William was mentioned in the death record of his son, Emmette Lee Addison, on 01 Feb 1932.[6] Emmette's mother was listed as Mary Smith. It is not known if she was the same person of Jane Smith, his wife, or if William had married a second time to a Mary.
He and Jane were mentioned in the death record of their daughter, Mary Addison Burden, on 28 Aug 1955.[7]
