Winston Wainwright "Winright" Adkins was born Jan 1, 1775 in Virginia. He was the son of Henry Adkins and Rachel Houchens. He resided in Floyd County, Kentucky in the section which later became Pike County, Kentucky. He was listed on the 1820 census. His age category was 45 and over. Living next door was William Adkins. Also on the same page were Jesse Adkins and Spencer Adkins.[1]
He acquired a land grant in Pike County, Kentucky in 1825.[2]
