Biography
Janet Agnew was born on 23 Aug 1737 in Chester, Pennsylvania to parents James Agnew and Margaret Ochiltree. She married Hugh Scott in 1754 in York, Pennsylvania. Children: Rebecca, Abraham, Hugh Jr., Margaret, James, Josiah, John, Elizabeth, and Sarah. She died on 9 Oct 1814 in Washington, Pennsylvania, and was buried at Pigeon Creek Cemetery, Washington, Pennsylvania.
From Genealogical and Personal History of Western Pennsylvania: "(Hugh Scott) He married, in 1754, Janet Agnew who died aged seventy-seven years. One of his sons was Josiah."
