Blanche was born in 1890. She was the daughter of Samuel Aiken and Alice McKeon.
Blanche first appeared with her parents as a baby (their first) on the 1891 census.[1] By the next census, they were a complete family, with parents and all four children,[2] living directly next door to grand parents and uncles and aunts on the West Potton farm.
Blanche married Clinton Robert Crowell, on 15 Dec. 1909, in Potton. They had two children, Merton and Beliva Evelyn, as mentioned below.
She passed away in Sutton in 1948. The following Obituary was published at the time (image attached):
MRS. CLINTON R. CROWELL, OF SUTTON. Sutton, Jan. 18 (1948) - "The death of Blanche Emma Aiken Crowell, widow of Clinton R. Crowell, occurred at her home in Sutton, on December 28, 1948. Mrs. Crowell was born in Dunkin, on August 28, 1890, the daughter of the late Samuel Aiken and his wife, Alice McKeon. The funeral service was held at the Jenne Funeral Home, on December 30, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Sydney Rowe officiating and the burial was made at Fairmount Cemetery. The bearers were Messrs. Arthur Miller, Dwight Sweet, Lyall Longeway and Frank Harvey. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter, Beliva, of Farnham; her son, Merton, her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Merton Crowell and grandson, Robert, of Plainville, Conn.; three sisters, Mrs. G. McKelvey and Mrs. L. Cote, of Dunkin; Miss E. Aiken, of Rouyn; as well as other sisters and brothers-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the United Church, the Women's Association and W.M.S., where she will be greatly missed."[3]
