Biography

William Aldredge, resident of Wilkes County, Georgia, age 79 on 26 January 1833, applied for a pension based on his service during the American Revolution.^[1]

In his application, he stated that he "resided in the County of Rowan [North Carolina] at the time of entering the service" (in the Spring of 1776).^[1]

He also states that he was born 26 January 1754 in Rowan County, North Carolina. After the war, he moved to Spartansburg District, South Carolina and then, about 1793, moved to "Columbia County, State of Georgia, remained there three years; then moved to Augusta, State of Georgia, lived there four or five years, and then removed to Wilkes County, State of Georgia where he now [1833] resides."^[1]
