Biography

Margaret Allyn Alexander was born on 12 June 1926 in Magnolia, Columbia County, Arkansas. She was the eldest child of Sam Pickering Alexander and [[Falkner-387 | Louie Maye Falkner Alexander. [1] [2] [3]

Family # 212 - US Census 17 April 1930 - Magnolia, Columbia County Arkansas
Sam Alexander - head age 32 - born AR
Louie M. Alexander - wife age 28 - born AR
Margaret A. Alexander - daughter age 3 - born AR
John E. Alexander - son age 2 - born AR

One missing piece of information in the biographies of Margaret and Joe is how and where their paths crossed, possibly at college after the war, but on 12 September 1948 Margaret married Joe W. Taylor in Columbia County, Arkansas. [4]

It was not learned where Joe and Margaret initially settled, but apparently Joe's roots in Oklahoma and the news paper business drew them in that direction. Joe and Margaret had two children, a daughter Debroah A. Taylor who married, has her own family and it believed to be living as of this writing, and a son Timothy W. Taylor who died 22 August 2000. Son Timothy was born in El Reno, Canadian County, Oklahoma on 7 December 1953 so they apparently lived in El Reno at that time. In 1956 they became publishers of the Davis News published in Davis, Murray County, Oklahoma, and apparently they lived the remainder of their lives in or near Davis. [1] [5]

Joe died on 9 Feb 1978 and was buried in the Green Hill Cemetery. Margaret died on 21 May 2005, and she too was buried Green Hill Cemetery, Davis, Murray County, Oklahoma. [1]
