Christopher Columbus Allen was born about 1840, probably in Jefferson, Arkansas. He was the son of John Lewis Calvin Allen (1813-1895) and Elizabeth Emeline (Gibson) Allen (abt.1817-abt.1857).

In 1850 the family was living in Jefferson, Carroll, Arkansas.[1]

Christopher served the Union in the Civil War. He enlisted in Company E in the 2nd Regiment, Arkansas Infantry on 8 March 1864. He was a farmer born in Conway, Arkansas, 35 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, blue eyes, light hair and a fair complexion. He was promoted to 3rd Corporal on 1 July 1864, and discharged 23 September 1864.[2] [3]

Christopher married Elizabeth M. (Estes) Allen (1852-1896) about 1868 in Marion County, Arkansas. In 1870, the family is living in Union, Marion, Arkansas.[4]

Christopher C. Allen died at age 62 on 24 February 1903, in Yellville, Marion County, Arkansas. He is buried in Lees Mountain Cemetery in Summit, Marion County, Arkansas.[8]
