Maria Jane Allen married John Adams Chattin on October 8, 1857, in Daviess County. John and Jane had seven children: (1) William Mack, (2) Cornelia J., (3) Josephine M., (4) Nancy E., (5) Ann Elizabeth, (6) Mary Lucinda, and (7) John Adams Jr.
Maria Jane was held in high regard with her friends and neighbors. John and Jane were active members of the South Martin church.
Maria Jane (Allen) Chattin died at the home of her daughter Mary Lucinda (aka Tinnie) in 1914.
