Biography

Governor of the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Kansas 1948-1951.

Per researcher Wayne V. Jones:

He graduated from the University of Kansas where he became a member of the Signma Nu fraternity. Flora and he established their first home in Topeka following their marriage and lived in Topeka for the rest of their lives and he practiced law there for his entire working life.

In about 1923, in association with his brothers-in-law, Albert R. and Frank E. Jones he was one of the organizers of The Shawnee Oil Company, of which he became the first president. The company never enjoyed much success in finding oil and eventually was merged into Trojan Oil and Gas Company. Otis S. Allen has served (1958) as a member of the Commission on Uniform State Law since 1932. For eighteen years he was president of the Milk Producers Association. He has been a member of the Sertoma Club (formerly Co-op Club) since its organization in Topeka. He was president of the Topeka Knife and Fork Club, 1950-1951; of the Topeka chapter of the Mayflower Society 1950-1953; [1] and of the Kansas Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, 1955-1956. He has had hobbies of farming and gardening.

In 1932 they built a home, 'Stone Gables', on West 10th Street in Topeka. [2]

Died of a Cardiac Arrest / Chronic Congestive Heart Failure, due to Hypertensive cardiovascular disease. Also had Pulmonary Fibrosis and emphysema at time of death. [3]
