William Allison[1][2] was born in 1757 in Rowan County, North Carolina[3], the second of eight children and the oldest of six sons of Robert and Elizabeth Unknown Allison.
On 17 June 1794, when he was about thirty, he married Susannah Hayter in Washington County, Virginia. She was to bear him eight children, seven sons and one daughter.
William died of unknown causes in Washington County on Christmas Day, 1819, when his youngest child was about seven years old.[4]
He is buried in Old Glade Spring Cemetery, Glade Spring, Washington County, Virginia[5]
