Mary 'Polly' Magdalene Altick was born in 1775 in Washington County, Maryland. She was the daughter of John Altick and Mary Simmons.
She moved with her parents to Franklin County, Virginia, where she married Jacob Crowell in 1801. They lived in Franklin Co. until about 1807, when they sold their land and moved to Ohio.
Jacob died in 1851. Mary passed away in 1866. Both were buried in Sugar Hill Cemetery in Preble County, Ohio.
