Nancy Alvis Badgett, Poncey and four children (Thomas, Shadrach, Nancy, & Margaret) are listed on the 1850 Lewis County, Virginia census. Poncey is a farmer age 51, Nancy is either 54 or 56 (according to the census--the writing is a little difficult to read). My great-great-great grandfather, Thomas W. Badgett is listed as either 24 or 26 (same legibility problem as Nancy's age), Shadrach is 22, Nancy is 17, and Margaret is 15.
