Note - William Carter Alvis. Paul Power assumed that the two Alvises whose marriage records he found in Sumner Co TN, Elizabeth (m Barney Wells in 1830) and William Carroll, who both moved to the area near Jefferson Co IL, were Edmund?s children, based on the statement that Abraham had only one surviving child, Asa.
