In the 1841 census, John is a farmer and is recorded as living at Mill, Framsden, Suffolk, England, with wife Maria and children, Elizabeth (17-21), John (14), Samuel (11), William (9), Edgar (6), Alfred (3), and Victoria (1). [3]
In the 1851 census, John (49), a Farmer of 350 acres, employing 6 lads, is living with wife Maria (50), and children Samuel (21), Edgar (15), Alfred (13), and Victoria (10), in Witnesham, Suffolk, England. [4]
John passed away on 9 April 1853 in Witnesham Suffolk England [5]
It is possible that John's father is John Palmer. Further research is required to confirm this.
The Mill mentioned in the 1841 census could be the now Grade II listed Framsden Mill. [6][7] As John is recorded as a farmer, it is likely he farmed land adjacent to the actual Mill, although it is not likely he was a Miller.
