In the 1841 census, John is a farmer and is recorded as living at Mill, Framsden, Suffolk, England, with wife Maria and children, Elizabeth (17-21), John (14), Samuel (11), William (9), Edgar (6), Alfred (3), and Victoria (1). ^[3]

In the 1851 census, John (49), a Farmer of 350 acres, employing 6 lads, is living with wife Maria (50), and children Samuel (21), Edgar (15), Alfred (13), and Victoria (10), in Witnesham, Suffolk, England. ^[4]

John passed away on 9 April 1853 in Witnesham Suffolk England ^[5]

Research Notes

It is possible that John's father is John Palmer. Further research is required to confirm this.

The Mill mentioned in the 1841 census could be the now Grade II listed Framsden Mill. ^[6][7] As John is recorded as a farmer, it is likely he farmed land adjacent to the actual Mill, although it is not likely he was a Miller.
