Biography
Joseph Thomas Amis was born on June 29, 1844, in Tennessee to Mary Ann Alexander, age 26, and James Amis, age 30.
He married Susan Tamyra Noel in Madison, Tennessee, on November 15, 1871, when he was 27 years old.
Their son William Noel was born in 1872 in Tennessee. Son James Leonard was born on April 22, 1874, in Jackson, Tennessee. Daughter Alice Geneva was born on December 9, 1879, in Tennessee.
Joseph’s mother Mary Ann passed away on January 14, 1886, at the age of 67.
His son Homer Thomas was born on December 26, 1887, in Tennessee.
His father James passed away on January 23, 1892, in Madison, Tennessee, at the age of 77.
Joseph’s son William Noel passed away in 1901 in Mississippi at the age of 29.
His wife Susan Tamyra passed away on January 17, 1917, in Madison, Tennessee, at the age of 71. They had been married 45 years.
Joseph Thomas Amis died on October 22, 1922, in Cleburne, Texas, when he was 78 years old. He is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee, United States of America
