Ernest Percival was born Tuesday, 5 Mar 1901[1] in Washington, D.C. to Ernest and Carrie Anderson.
He was living with his maternal grandparents in 1910[2] and in Detroit, Michigan in 1920 where he worked as a stenographer.[3]
He married Hazel Barto in Manhattan in 10 Jun 1921[4] and then moved to Chicago where he worked as a cost accountant for the Motor Truck Co.[5] and had three sons.
Ernest died of tuberculosis at the age of 36 on 20 Apr 1937 and is buried in Acacia Park, Norwood Park, Il.[6][7][8]

The 1920 census for Ernest shows his mother being born in D.C. rather than Virginia.
The 1930 census has the correct birthplace for the mother, but the parental birth places listed for the three sons are incorrect (or at least confused between mother and father). The address in the census was: 3911 W Monroe St
