Biography

Leslie Angus was born on 9 April 1893 in North Dakota.[1] He was the son of Robert Byron Angus and Julia Orange Johnston.[2]

According to the 1911 census, in 1911 Leslie was living in Dobie, Ontario, with his parents, and his siblings Emery, Freman, Cecil, Leona, and George. He was 18 at that time. The whole family is recorded as being Canadian, with Scotch roots, and their religion was Presbyterian. The father and his oldest 4 sons were all farmers.

On the same page of the 1911 census is the Watts family, including Leslie's future wife, then 8-year-old Mildred.
