Henry Charles was born on 18 Oct 1865 in Halifax, Halifax, Nova Scotia.[1] son of Henry Appleton and Ann Montague.

1Trueman appears to be an child of unwed parents Henry Charles and Julia A Allen, we have found no documentation to support this yet.
Henry married 2 Agnes Lillian Carr on 8 Mar 1894 in Halifax, Halifax Co., Nova Scotia.

Henry passed away on 21 Apr 1924 in City Hospital, Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.[2] and was buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Sydney, Nova Scotia

  • Leo Allen, Trueman Allen is my grandfather. I suspected for some time grandfather was born out of wedlock and raised by his grandmother Lavinia Totten Allen as her son in Nova Scotia, Canada. I have DNA links to Henry Appleton descendants.
  • Note from family friend; I found out Holy Cross Cemetary is located next to the former St. Anthony Daniel Church on Alexandra St., Sydney. I phoned the # listed and a women answered saying. "Resurrection Cemetary ". Within minutes she gave me the information for the family plot of the Appleton Family at Holy Cross Cemetery: section E. Row 2. Lot 10
  • Red and I went to the Cemetery and we found the pillar headstone with the big A on it for Appleton.
  • There are 3 family members listed on it. Harris C. Appleton. died April 21, 1924.

Harry Appleton. born Dec. 17, 1903. died Dec 28, 1918 Kathleen Appleton. born Aug 9,1897. died Oct 19, 1918
