Orion Apsey was born on 28 Nov 1865 in Lowell, Kent, Michigan to parents John Apsey Sr. and Susan Corman. He was raised in Cascade, Kent, Michigan.^[1] He moved with his parents to Paris, Kent, Michigan before 1880. ^[2] He married Addie L Richardson on 13 Aug 1886 in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan. ^{[3] [4]} Their children were:

Mary Beatrice Apsey Mc Connell^[5] Wilbur 1888- 1980

Addie and Orion divorced in 1893. Orion died in a farm accident on 11 Apr 1899^[6] and was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Kent County, Michigan ^[7]
