Moses Arbogast lived in Appalachia, in Virginia (now West Virginia).

There is confusion over his last name. It appears he was born Moses Arbogast. His mother did not marry John Lunceford/Lunsford until Moses was 4 years old. ALL source documentation has Moses Arbogast, not Lunceford/Lunsford.
