Biography

Elizabeth (Arbogast) Kerr lived in Appalachia, in West Virginia.
. Elizabeth was born in 1794 in Bath County, Virginia (now West Virginia). She was the daughter of Adam Arbogast and Margaret Hull. On 2 Oct 1817 in Pendleton, WV she married Robert Dunlap Kerr Sr. They had 6 known children. They remained in West Virginia throughout their lives. It was here she passed away in 1860.

  1. Mary Polly Kerr b. 1818 - d. 1900, m. Benjamin Franklin Ervin ( he died as a POW during the Civil War), 3 children
  2. Adam Kerr b. 1820 - d. 1901, m1/wid. Hannah Arbogast, 5 children; m2/wid. Rosanna Rogers, 7 children; m3/wid. Rebecca Ours, 2 children; m4/wid. Martha Jane Gordon, 1 child; m5. Virginia Pugh, 1 child. 16 total children from 5 marriages.
  3. Margaret Kerr b. 1825 - d. 1864, age 39. Believed never married or had children
  4. Daniel Bailey Kerr b. 1827 - d. 1893, m. Arah Jane McGee, 1 child (she also had 2 from a prior marriage)
  5. George W Kerr b. 1829 - d. 1887, m1/wid. Louisa Reed, no children; m2/wid. Elizabeth Wilfong, 5 children; m3. Mary Ann Pew, 3 children.
  6. William Dunlap Kerr Jr b. 1830 - d. 1900, m. Juliet E O'Brien, 5 children
