William Armistead was a Virginia colonist.

William Armistead, first son of William Armistead and Ann Unknown, was born about 1636 in Elizabeth City County, Virginia. His exact death date is unknown. William never married and had no children.

William's father was in Elizabeth City County before 1636 when he sppnsored his wife to come to said county.[1]

William is named in the will of his father, William Armistead. On the "last of August" 1660, John Armistead, as executor for his brother, William Armistead, was made power of attorney in York County, Virginia.[2] His second son, John, was named heir of his first son, William, who died childless.[3]

William could not have been born about 1634 and received land in Virginia in 1636. Comments above related to his arrival in Virginia and sponsorship of his wife Ann to come to Virginia do not refer to this William Armistead; they refer to his father William Armistead.
