James Elwood Armpriester was born on 28 March 1923[1][2][3][4][5] in Dugger, Cass Township, Sullivan County, Indiana, United States[1][2][3][4][5]. He was the son of Harry Courtland Armpriester[1][2][3] and Zelda Marie Anderson[1][2][3].

James attended the Linton schools and graduated from the Linton Stockton high school on 03 June 1941.

James married Sarah June Rogers[3] on 05 April 1941[3] in Sullivan County, Indiana, United States[3].

James enlisted in the U.S. Army on 24 July 1943[4].

James and Sarah had a son: Rev James M Armpriester, Sr.

James Elwood Armpriester passed away on 23 January 1944[5][6] in Sydney, Wales as the result of "killed by a Tram".
