Biography

Reuben Arnold was born about 1795 in Elbert County, Georgia, United States, son of James Arnold (1770–>1830) and his wife, Nancy (~1770–>1860, her maiden name has never been documented).

Reuben married Sarah Stroud. [1] about 1820 in Tennessee. He brought his family to Izard County, Arkansas about 1846. Their known children were:

  3. Polly Arnold (~1828– ) .[2]
  4. Elizabeth Arnold (~1832– ) .
  5. Thornton Arnold (~1835–>1860) .
  6. William Arnold (~1837–1862) .
  7. Jefferson Arnold (1839–1907) .
  8. James Arnold (~1840–1895) .
  9. Thomas Arnold (1845–1915) .
  10. Sarah Jane Arnold (~1848–1915) .
  11. Margaret Ann 'Peggy' Arnold (1849–1923) .
  12. Howell Andrew Arnold (1849–<1860)[3][4]

He was still living with his daughter, Peggy, at the time of the census taken on 21 JUN 1880 in Izard, Arkansas.[5]

DNA

Paternal and maternal sides have been confirmed through DNA testing on 23 and Me. VAG, RH and JF form a triangulation group on chr. 5 at Physical Position (bp): 67487328-92537336, Genetic distance: 26.02 cM, Number of SNPs: 4256. VAG is the 2g-grandchild of Reuben Arnold. RH is the 3g-grandchild of Jefferson Arnold, RH is VAG’s 4C1R. JF is the 4g-grandchild of Lucinda Arnold, JF and VAG are 4C2R. Predicted relationship was 4C. RH and JF are 5C1R. MRCA are James and Nancy Arnold.
