He was tended by his brother Thomas during his final illness. He died from a metastatic abcess in 1869. He was 46 and single at the time of his death.[1]
Buried in the Arnold Family Cemetery, originally on family land called "Willow Hill", in King George Co., Virginia[2][3][4]
