Lydia was born about 1824. This age is consistent with that recorded on her second marriage and at the time of her death. However it means her first marriage was at age 18, (not full, as stated) which was subsequent to the birth of her first two children at ages 16 & 18.
To date there has been no birth registration found, in either Australian or English record, despite several researcher's attempts to find it. DNA Matches with Descendants could likely prove her heritage and ancestry, as there are some probable parents.
On her first marriage (in England) her father is named as Thomas HARNOT, farmer
On her second marriage (in Australia) there is no father recorded in line with requirements of the place/time.
On her death certificate/registration (in Australia) her father is named as William HARNETT, chair-maker, and her birth place is given as Hobarton (Van Dieman's Land, Colony of New South Wales) aka Tasmania, Australia. ARNOTT appears as her surname on most documents, but in common with others in Tasmania (and elsewhere) with the same name(s), due to illiteracy and accents, is interchangeable with both HARNETT & ARNETT.
She re-married less than five months after the death of her first husband, and some of her children only acknowledge their step-father going forward. '''''''
