Thomas was born in 1720. He passed away in 1784.

1745 - Arrived in the Americas, his eldest son William born during the voyage. Settled near Baltimore, Maryland with his wife, his newborn son, and five or six sisters.
1753 - Carroll's Adventure, Maryland Plat No. 52, 116 acres held by Thomas Atkinson; Gun Power Manor Estate[1][2]
1761 - Amount levied by the Sheriff in 1762 for the use of the County: Thomas Atkinson....24 lbs. of tobacco.[3]
1767- Listed as a Tenant in possession of 116 acres of land in Gunpowder Manor for which the annual rental was 1 pound, three shillings and 2 1/2 pence[4]
1772 -Moved to West Virginia and settled on Ten Mile Creek with four sons and four daughters
1775 - Surveyed for Thomas Atkinson Including his actual settlement 1773.[5]
1775 - On the motion of Thos. Atkinson, Ord that "his Mark, a Crop and Slit in the Crop in the Right Ear, and the left Ear slit down and one half Cropt off". [6]
1775-1776-In the 7th VA Reg. and marched across the mountains to support the cause in eastern VA. 400 acres for his military service[7]
1777 -Built a fort to which his family and neighbors could retreat
1780 -398 1/2 acres, Surveyed Aug 29, 1785[8] 400 acres of Land in Virginia was transferred to Pennsylvania.[9]
1784 -Listed as yeoman (Page 40), Dated: 23 June 1784, Bene: Sons: William; George, Thomas (to get homestead: John;, Mercy Elliott, Eloner Cregcraft, Jean Sargent, Martha, Elizabeth Elliott and 4 grandsons, Acct # A-3-1786[10]
1784- In Maryland, listed as one of 25 Gunpowder Manor tenants in arrears for his 113 `1/2 acres.
