Sources

  1. Unclassified: Text: Letter from Mike Vance (4414 Grass Valley, Houston TX 77018) to Kathy Patterson, 2 Oct 1998. Included was a copy of correspondence to Mr. Vance from Gary Bastin, which included "Atwell & Bastin Connections," e-mail message from Glenda Bastin, <presley@> to her brother Gary, 15 May 1997. Also a Descendant Chart for John Atwell, Sr, prepared by Mike Vance. It is difficult to know which information may have originated with me and came back full circle. Children of John Jr and Richard Atwell are assigned to fathers, but whether this is proven or guesswork is not clear. (accessed before 30 December 2010)
  2. Marriage of other person: Text: Many of their children's middle names came from a confused list sent me by John Vance from an e-mail communication from Gary Bastin, 15 May 1997. Several of the girls used nicknames and are not easy to identify. My earliest data had daughter "Tootie" marrying a -- Rock, and daughter "Fanny" marrying Mr. Fancher. Daughter Sally married Mr Finney. Bastin has daughters Trudy, Creasy (Mary Lucretia), and Fannie. He states that daughter Margaret Jane married James B Bastin, so Fanny and Tootie/Trudy must have been Phoebe F and Susan Elizabeth. (accessed before 30 December 2010)
  3. Marriage of other person: Text: Green County Marriage bond, 16 Oct 1833, signed by Benjamin Atwell & Joel Forbis, also consent signed by William Erwin, father, and witnessed by Joel Forbis. County Clerk's Office, Greensburg KY. (accessed before 30 December 2010)
