Jeanne was born about 1621 in France of unknown parentage. She is listed as Jeanne Aubois, 45 in 1666 census, Jeanne Auneau, 41 in 1667 census, and Jeanne Cluneau, 54 in 1681 census. All ages obviously estimated by census takers. She is listed as Jeanne Nounau on her funeral record and the baptism of her daughter Élisabeth. Tanguay lists her as Jeanne Aunois.
She married Pierre Lefebvre around 1646 in Trois-Rivières.[1] Note that Tanguay does not in fact give a date of marriage.
LE COUPLE ARRIVA A TROIS-RIVIERES APRES LEUR MARIAGE EN 1646. PIERRE ACQUIERT UN GRAND DOMAINE AUX TROIS-RIVIERES PUIS UN FIEF D'UNE LIEUE PAR UN QUART DE LARGEUR A GENTILLY (EN 1668, CE FIEF PASSE A SON GENDRE CHIRURGIEN: FELIX THUNE QUI LE REVEND EN 1669 A MICHEL PELLETIER\LAPRADE) ET IL ACHETE AUSSI UNE TERRE AU CAP-DE-LA-MADELEINE.[2]
After their marriage in 1646, the couple arrived at Trois-Rivières, where Pierre acquired a large domain, and later a fief of 1 lieue by 1/4 lieue in Gentilly (which passed to his son-in-law Félix Thuné in 1668, who sold it in 1669 to Michel Pelletier dit Laprade). Pierre also bought land at Cap-de-la-Madeleine.
Her husband and several others got permission to clear the island in the middle of the Trois-Rivières in 1647
Vol I pg 21 Notaire Henri Bancheron[3]
This is possibly the concession of land referred to in above text of a fief in Gentilly, which is across the St-Lawrence river from Trois-Rivières and some miles downstream[4]. Could also be for another Lefebvre, there were quite a few in the colony with that last name.
1° Concession de M. de Lauzon au nommé Lefebvre (4 mai 1650). Vol I pg 150 Notaire Nicolas Gatineau dit Duplessis[3]

Death & Burial
Jeanne died on 11 Feb 1697 and was buried on the 12th in Trois-Rivières, being listed as Jeanne Nounau, widow of Pierre Lefebvre on the record.
L'an mil sept cent quatre vingt dix sept onzième de février Jeanne Nounau femme de défunt Pierre Lefebvre est décédée dans la communion de notre mère la sainte église après avoir reçu tous les sacrements par .... laquelle a été inhumée ... (rest of document illegible)[7] (note that her husband's name was Lefebvre, not Lefebure as some have thought, the V and U are written pretty much the same way by the priest, see the word vingt in 1697 text).
Notes
Jeanne Aunois is of unknown parentage, per Jetté, PRDH and Tanguay.[8] She is therefore being detached from Pierre Auneau and Anne Cloutier as parents. There is simply no evidence for them, neither marriage contract nor act survives for Jeanne to name parents for her. Liard-1

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jeanne by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jeanne:
first I hear that someone is claiming she was Métis, Denis Beauregard (Francogene source) has this to say on the subject: The Native origin is a misreading of the baptism of 1651-08-24 Trois-Rivières (see Drouin image 25390129)https://www.genealogiequebec.com/Membership/LAFRANCE/acte/87278 which baptism if for a girl named Perrine, dob 24 Aug 1651 baptism 27th. the godmother is Jeanne Onaut wife of Pierre Lefebvre. (another name variation for her)
I note that it is shown that Anne Cloutier Auneau is shown to have died in 1621 yet it is shown that her only child Jeanne was born in 1624. Perhaps just a typo but clearly note possible.
Auno-1 and Aunois-3 appear to represent the same person because: birth year isn't quite the same, but same husband & child. Please merge so that Aunois-3 is the profile that remains. Thanks! Liz (and Thanks Linda for spotting this pair!)
Aunois-3 and Auno-1 are not ready to be merged because: I need to reverse this, so that Auno-1 is merged into Aunois-3, & I don't now how to do it without removing the originally proposed merge.
