"In Westminster, Vt. Mr. Asa Averill, aged 86 years. He was driven at different times with his father's family to the forts in Charlestown, Walpole and Putney and for years of his life they were his only habitation. He was an ensign under Wolfe at the taking of Quebec, was among the Green Mountain Boys at the surrender of Burgoyne, and during a long period of peace lived to see the country he had aided in redeeming from the wilderness and the enemy, populous, flourishing and happy." 1825-09-12 - New Hampshire Patriot
