Samuel Avery, son of Thomas, was born on 15 Nov. 1680 at Groton, Connecticut and baptized on 2 Jan. 1681 at First Church of New London, Connecticut.[1]

He married Elizabeth Ransford, daughter of Jonathan and Martha Ransford, "late of Boston" on 23 June 1702 at New London..[1]

Samuel died on 25 Feb. 1749/50 at Montville..[1]

His will is dated 22 February 1749/50 in New London, Connecticut.[2]He mentions his wife Elizabeth. Sons John & Ephraim. Daughters, Martha, Elizabeth, Alithea, Hannah, Anna and Mary. Mentions deceased son Ransford and Ransford's son, his grandson Samuel who is living with him at the time of his death.
