Elizabeth Baesinger was born April 25, 1800, in Switzerland, the daughter of Christian Baesinger and Elizabeth (Steiner) Baesinger.

Elizabeth married Ulrich Steiner, also born in Switzerland, on June 28, 1800, the son of Daniel Steiner and Maria (Suter) Steiner.

According to her Find A Grave memorial, Elizabeth's maiden name is recorded variously as Bosiger, Boesiger and Basinger. (Her memorial is listed as Elizabeth Basinger Steiner) ^[1] This profile is using the spelling on the death certificate for her son, Abraham Steiner, born October 24, 1845, in Wilmot, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, died July 17, 1912, in Woolwich, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 66. ^[2]

Elizabeth and Ulrich are buried in the Mennonite cemetery, in Wilmot Centre, Waterloo Regional Municipality, Ontario, Canada.
