Anne was born in Bradford (in the area later, in 1726, to become known as East Bradford, then in 1850 as Groveland) in 1678[1], the third of Joseph Bailey and Abigail Trumble's eight children. On 10 Sept 1702, Anne married Jonas Platts, son of Jonathan Platts and Elizabeth Johnson, and their near-neighbour in (East) Bradford.[2][3] They made their home in East Bradford, just two lots east of her father's home. [4] Anne and Jonas had seven children born between 1704 and 1721, all recorded in Bradford:[5]
