Biography
Funeral services for Mary Wynette Stewart, age 74 of Ashland, will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Springhill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the Clay County Nursing Home. A native and lifelong resident of Clay County, she had worked at Clegg Poultry and had also worked for 16 years at Southland Manufacturing. Mrs. Stewart then worked as a Nursing Assistant at the Clay County Nursing Home – Twin Oaks for over six years. She was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by two daughters: Sharon Luker and Tina Haley, both of Ashland; three sons: Ronald Wideman of Ashland, Mike Wideman of Talladega and Charles Stewart Jr. – “Bo” of Ashland; one sister, Nona Fay Brown (Art) of Ashland; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Griffin Wilson Baird and Mary Frances Horn Baird and her husband, Charles Stewart.
