Biography

Peter was baptized at Niagara by Rev. Robert Addison on August 11, 1792.[1]

During the War of 1812, Peter served as a private and an ensign in the 1st Lincoln Militia. Later he was promoted to lieutenant in the Provincial Artillery Drivers.

He had been a private in Capt. Crooks’ Flank Co. [2]

On July 2, 1812, he was promoted to ensign. [3]

On Oct. 24, 1812, he served in Capt. McClellan’s Company. [4]

Peter’s name should be recorded in the Collections Canada online militia documents in the 1st Lincoln Militia payrolls but they have not been searched.

He was promoted to lieutenant in the Provincial Royal Artillery Drivers. [5]

He received a Prince Regent’s Land Grant. [6]
