Research Note
It is probably that errors were made when the dates where recorded on Marriage Record. The record shows that the License was issued on 31 Dec 1890, marriage solemized on 1 Jan 1890, and recorded on 3 Jan 1891.
1910 Census: Lena and her husband, William Oakes (21), were living in the Dickson Township of Benton County, Arkansas. The record reflects that Lena was 35, born in Arkansas, and that she had been married to William for about 1 year. The record notes that the marriage was Lena's second marriage and William's first. Also listed as a member of the household was Lena's son from her first marriage, Earl Puryear (14).[5]
