Derina was the daughter of Peter Bare and Christina Knipp. (Her Kentucky Death certificate shows her age when she died of old age on 19 May 1916 was 74 years, 3 months, 11 days. Her parents were Peter Bair, born Kentucky and M. Knipp, born Kentucky. This information was provided by Calvin Jones.)
Although she was named for her grandmother, Derinah Keesee, the spelling Derina was often used for her given name.[1] Other variations included Derinah [2], Dorinny. [3] and Denna [4]Some family records use the nickname "Rine". Her maiden name is found spelled Bare, Bear, and Bair.
Dorina married William Fleming Jones on 20 October 1862 in Rowan Co., KY. Witness was Reuben Bare.[5]
Derina Jones died 19 May 1916 in Elliott County, Kentucky. [6][7]
