Louis Bare was born 1 June 1891 in Upper Twp., Ironton, Ohio.[1] He was placed in the Lawrence Co., Ohio Children's Home 29 February 1896. On 13 August 1901 he was placed in the home of Henry Lambert who raised him. [2]It is not clear if Louis was formally adopted but he used the name Luc Lambert all his life.
Lewis Lambert was age 19, born Ohio and resided in the home of Henry Lambert in the 1910 census of Cabell County, West Virginia.[3]

His draft card for World War II as Lue (middle name "none") Lambert gave his birth date as 1 June 1891 in Ironton, Ohio. At the time he registered he was living in Canton, Ohio and working at the Belden Hotel. [5]
Lue A. Lambert was employed by Bentley and Gerwig Furniture Co in Parkersburg, West Virginia in 1926 and his wife was named Mattie.

The census for 1930 Parkersburg, West Virginia shows Lue had a son named Jack Lambert. The family lived on Queen's Lane.[8]
