After a family tragedy (her father murdered her mother when she was a toddler), she was raised by her maternal grandparents under the surname Orr (so this is often quoted as her "maiden" name). She was married multiple times, so her different married surnames show up: Green, Modlin, Bair, and Reyes.
She was married to two men before Lewis (Green and Modlin). She and Lewis were married in Oregon in 1951, then divorced in Los Angeles in 1969. She then married a man surnamed Reyes (married 1970, divorced 1975). She and Lewis were married for a 2nd time in 1976 and remained together until his death in 1998 and her death in 2003.
